Martin has been involved in debating for more than half of his life and has contributed to its successful expansion - as a teacher, judge, trainer, leader of various projects and member of the board of the Estonian Debating Society. If asked what he would consider his greatest achievement in debating, he would probably answer that he was a semi-finalist in the Oxford University Debating Tournament, but the fact that Martin has been a judge in the finals of Estonian debating tournaments more than 10 times is no less important. Apart from the fact that Martin has been indirectly involved with SpeakSmart for more than 10 years, we finally managed to attract him as a trainer in 2022.

Martin holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and a Master's degree in Strategy and International Management from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. In addition, Martin has furthered his education at the Asian Institute of Management in Manila.

Martin has been working mainly in finance, supply chain and strategy functions in a variety of large international manufacturing companies. For the last couple of years, Martin has been leading the business development function in one of the largest food production companies in Estonia and is also a member of the Management Board.

FEEDBACK TO MARTIN'S TRAININGS:
The trainer is a professional in his field. Anyone who has to communicate a lot in their workplace could benefit from this training and understand the meaning of argumentation. There is a big difference between arguing and debating. In addition, the training also gives you the opportunity to put the knowledge into practice immediately.
He communicated well with the participants, the training was well structured, he carried out exercises and gave the necessary feedback (both positive and suggestions for improvement).
It was very interesting to follow Martin, he was able to create very quickly a pleasant and relaxed, but businesslike atmosphere during the training. He was very good at keeping the learners focused on the learning materials and guiding everyone in discussion. Not once did I have to look at my watch as his presentation was very engaging and exciting.
